Rwenzori East police have confirmed that a female security guard has been shot and injured in the thigh.
The incident according to police happened on Tuesday that saw Merab Kangai from AI security Company injured.
Meanwhile the security guard (suspect) under detention by the names of George Kabwimana was a colleague with whom Merab Kongai was guarding with at MMP Agro Industries Ltd in Kasese according to Rwenzori East police spokesperson Nelson Tumushime.
“ The suspect is in our custody pending investigations but has provisionally been charged with attempted murder,” Tumushime said.
In addition the police picked the riffle which the Suspect was using and the bullet cartridge.
Dr Hilary Bategyekiza a medic at the hospital told the press that the bleeding victim was received at the facility with a history of gunshot on the right thigh and upon reaching the facility the medical staff found a bullet in the victim’s thigh and immediately took her to the theatre for surgery.
By press time Merab was nursing gunshot wounds at St Mary’s hospital in Kasese town where she was undergoing treatment.
