In a recent incident that has sparked concern, a significant number of students were admitted to the Namugo health center 3 and MUKJ medical Clinic when students started complaining about stomachache, headache and vomiting immediately after being served posho and beans for lunch.

As a result, local authorities took swift action by arresting the school cooks responsible for preparing the meals.

The incident unfolded at Golden Learning Nursery and primary school in Mityana district where approximately 100 students fell ill after consuming their lunch.

The affected pupils complained of symptoms typically associated with food poisoning, including nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Promptly, concerned parents rushed their children to nearby medical facilities for urgent medical attention.

However following the sudden influx of affected students, health officials launched an investigation to determine the root cause of the suspected food poisoning outbreak.

Their preliminary findings pointed towards the school meals as the probable source of contamination, leading to the arrest of the school cooks who were directly responsible for preparing the food.
