During a celebratory dinner marking MultiChoice Uganda’s 30th anniversary at Mestil Hotel in Kampala, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, the Minister for ICT and National Guidance, lauded the pay TV company for positively impacting numerous lives in Uganda. He specifically highlighted the company’s dedication to producing local content in the entertainment industry and emphasized its role as a major employer and taxpayer in the country.
Dr. Baryomunsi reiterated the government’s unwavering support to facilitate MultiChoice Uganda’s expansion, recognizing the company’s crucial contribution to the national economy. He disclosed that the government recently formalized its collaboration with MultiChoice Uganda through a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance investment in local content, research and development, digital literacy, capacity building, broadcast sector development, and privacy protection initiatives.

Hassan Saleh, the Managing Director of MultiChoice Uganda, reflected on the company’s journey over the past three decades, highlighting its mission to deliver a diverse range of international and local content to Ugandan audiences. Saleh underscored the company’s evolution in providing innovative viewing options to customers, which have reshaped the consumption of content. He also emphasized the company’s role in job creation and empowerment within the Ugandan community.
